In my 20's and 30's I always felt like I was "too busy" to devote the mind-space and time that I thought I needed to lose weight and be healthier. A few years before I turned 40 I actually remember walking down the staircase and feeling my knees ache. I also felt lethargic a lot of the time and found any form of exercise to be boring or uncomfortable/exhausting.
Even before it was popularized by the movie, I had a "bucket list". Some of the things on my list involved being physically fit like "jump out of a plane" and others required me to stay healthy to a ripe old age like "snowmobile with my grandchildren". Given the fact that I couldn't jog comfortably to the end of my street, being able to go snowmobiling in 30 years was not looking so good!
So I joined a gym and worked with various trainers and workout partners and really improved my fitness level. But even though I was working out, I couldn't seem to lose weight. My sweet tooth and love of huge portion sizes seemed to win every time!
When I turned 40 I decided it was time to focus on ME and to have the figure and the fitness that I had always wanted.
A friend of mine had great success with Fran's nutrition/fitness program so I decided to give it a try. I have been utilizing Fran's Lifestyle Coaching on a weekly basis for 9 months. Through my discussions with Fran I have learned to calculate calories, find ways to fit exercise into my life, and to participate fully in celebrations and life events that involve food without going completely overboard!
So far I have lost 20 pounds and I am just a few pounds away from my goal weight.
I walk up and down my stairs multiple times a day and my knees no longer ache. This coming holiday our family will be going skiing and snowmobiling -- something I also plan to be doing 30 years from now with my grandchildren!
Jumping out of a plane? I may rethink that one…..
Seriously though, I feel great, my husband loves my new figure, and our whole family of five is better off because of the healthy habits that Fran has helped me incorporate into our life.
Thank you Fran!
